How do I scan important documents from my scanner to my computer?

I have an HP PSC series 2355xi scanner,copier and printer all in one and I want to scan documents to my computer. I don’t have an installation CD and when I hit the send to button the little screen says I have to either run or install HP software. What software do I need?

To scan an image with Vista…Go to Start…All Programs….Windows photo Gallery….select the File Tab and select Import from Camera or Scanner.
